Some may not have understood the parts of Jagraj Singh's video where he spoke in Punjabi but he was very cavalier about the whole idea of anybody just going out and buying a gun and he further implies that Sikhs should get an assault rifle with a magazine larger than 10 rounds by picturing it in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvQitBXj0BM&list=TLTt1INj_6q-ZHGYrWBRIgsadrbyQuIUIA These are both illegal in California. He doesn't treat the weapon safely or with respect when he waves it around with his finger always on the trigger nor does he encourage Sikhs to get professional training before buying a firearm. I think his video is reckless and he should take it down and redo it with someone who has proper knowledge before someone acts out his recklessness on the firing range or in the public or gets arrested for having an illegal assault rifle with a 30 round magazine in California.
Jagraj Singh from Basics of Sikhi admits on fb that he hasn't shot a gun in 9 years. Would you take advice from a driving instructor who hasn't driven a car in 9 years not to mention no refresher courses in driving instruction? Here's a screen shot of Jagraj Singh's facebook page where he says he hasn't shot in 9 years. This is Not somebody who should be giving advice to the world-wide Sikh community on self defense and proficiency with firearms. Jagraj Singh~"Not bad after 9 years of not shooting. Two eyes.. Two shots for nose.. Mouth and tricuti and Dasam duaar and neck and one shot on each shoulder." https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152579567780941&set=a.214202555940.173956.559090940&type=1&theater
Why has Jagraj Singh of "Basics of Sikhi" blocked & censored my comments on fb about gun safety in this video? Evidently Jagraj Singh is too arrogant to listen to constructive criticisms about gun safety in his video "Sikhs get Armed & Trained @California". The post below which Jagraj Singh deleted this morning from his fb page should be read by every Sikh who is thinking about owning a firearm:
"Nothing is wrong with constructive criticism especially when lives are at risk from reckless handling of assault rifles. If Jagraj Singh is putting himself on a YouTube video as an expert in firearms because he was trained by the British Army, then he needs to be absolutely professional and correct in his presentation of a very serious matter of owning a firearm that can take people's lives or cause somebody to be imprisoned for life if they were to shoot somebody without just cause and knowledge of the law. This is why I always emphasize the absolute necessity of correct and professional training before you own or use a firearm. Here is the very first video I made exactly two years ago today which emphasizes safety and training before you buy a firearm for self-defense. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWzJFy64E4w&list=TLC6Z0_FLK5Gu70cjsylODG6BI8Mq2D7ev
Maybe Jagraj Singh was trained by the British Army but it is clear to me & other firearms experts that have viewed his video that Jagraj Singh didn't learn the correct way to handle firearms. In fact, his actions are just down right reckless and dangerous putting himself and others at risk! Jagraj Singh would be kicked off any official firing range in the US immediately for having his finger on the trigger while waving around a rifle as he is doing in the video. After seeing Jagraj Singh's nonchalant handling of the assault rifle in the video, I really question the circumstances around his discharge from the British Army. Sikhs should ask Jagraj Singh to elaborate on how he came to leave the British Army or post his paperwork which shows he was honorably discharged from the Army. I'd also like to see documents that show if he received any commendations for marksmanship or anything else for that matter while he was in the British Army. Safety and correct handling of firearms is very important because if Sikhs do not learn the proper way to use firearms then I'd rather they not have them at all!
Under current laws in California you cannot legally buy an assault rifle let alone carry a loaded one in your car. Assault rifles that have been modified with the so called "bullet button" which restrict quick reloading and can only legally have a 10 round magazine, make the assault rifle less than desirable for self-defense use under current California laws. Sikhs should take classes in firearms safety and apply for a concealed handgun license. Any law abiding citizen in most US States can take classes through a trained firearms instructor and then apply for the CCW license with their county Sherriff. Here is the very first video I made which emphasizes safety and training before you buy a firearm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWzJFy64E4w&list=TLC6Z0_FLK5Gu70cjsylODG6BI8Mq2D7ev
